Salary:  £22,494 to £26,829 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post based at the Queens Medical Centre in the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Research/Research Manager; primarily to ensure that Research Committee projects and activities are designed and delivered on a timely basis. The role holder will be expected to work independently, interacting with academic and administrative colleagues across the School / Faculty, managing budgets and developing/implementing plans in line with agreed objectives.

Duties will include managing processes supporting school-wide research activities; assisting the Director/Research Manager on the planning, coordination, recording and evaluation of ad-hoc Research Committee projects; and supporting the Research Committee & Doctoral Programme Committee.

Candidates must have a HNC or HND in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualifications/ certification, plus considerable experience ina relevant role(s) or broad substantial relevant experience demonstrating general knowledge of a technical, financial or professional practice and development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding, relevant work.

Excellent IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; the ability to work on own initiative with minimum day to day supervision; the ability to plan and prioritise workload; and a high standard of communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to record meeting minutes are essential. An IT qualification, experience of working within Higher Education and minute taking would be desirable.

This full-time post will be offered on a permanent contract and is open to job share.
