The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) is the only independent medical research institute (MRI) in the Illawarra. As a not-for-profit registered charity the Institute is constantly striving to enhance the health and wellbeing of people living in local communities.
Established in 2008 as a joint initiative of the University of Wollongong (UOW) and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) the Institute supports a network of scientists and clinicians based at UOW and ISLHD. The Institute’s researchers span many disciplines and work collaboratively to understand, diagnose, treat and prevent disease and illness.
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and deliver a wide-ranging program of fundraising activities to generate philanthropic income to promote and support the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute. The role encompasses the development and design of fundraising materials, including fundraising proposals, promotional materials, website content and organising and managing community and stakeholder events.
