Director of Research, Section of Geriatrics, Department of Medicine
Boston University (BU) School of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics, seeks an experienced investigator in aging research with demonstrated leadership skills to lead its research efforts and to develop interdisciplinary collaborations, both at BU and in greater Boston (e.g., New England GRECC and the Boston Older Americans Independence Center). He/she must hold an MD or PhD degree and have an established track record of external grant funding and published scholarship. Mentoring of junior faculty, fellows, and other trainees will be a high priority for the successful applicant. Faculty position will be commensurate with experience. The Section has active research programs in exceptional longevity, functional impact of chronic kidney disease, and multiple educational and clinical innovations. Although the Director’s research focus need not be in any of these areas, he/she will be expected to develop collaborations with BU Schools of Medicine and Public Health, and Department of Medicine Centers including, but not limited to, the BU Alzheimer’s Disease Center, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the Framingham Heart Study, the Center for Implementation and Improvement Sciences, and the Health and Disability Research Institute. BU is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and strongly encourages applications from female and minority candidates.
