Property Services is located in the Resources Portfolio which is the services nucleus of RMIT and the focus for the development of the finance, people development infrastructure and systems that provide administrative capacity to the University. Property Services has approximately 120 staff and has the responsibility to operate, maintain and enhance the buildings owned and leased by RMIT University, oversee construction projects and ensure the provision of physical facilities services. The Group has an operating budget in excess of $40M and prospective capital projects of over $100M per annum for the next few years in Melbourne and Vietnam. RMIT's built environment involves approximately 110 buildings in Melbourne spread across all of RMIT's campuses and sites.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

This position provides facilitation towards the effective and efficient organisation and performance of Projects Branch in accordance with the University Operating Procedures. In keeping with Property Services objectives of best practice, based on efficient and prompt delivery of service, this position primarily manages the delivery of projects/ initiatives within the Capital Development Program. The position involves a high degree of customer service.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have demonstrated ability to manage labour, materials, funds and contractors effectively and will have demonstrated ability to manage the performance of contracts, programs and projects and effectively deliver results on time and within budget. Your ability to lead and motivate trade contractors and ability to understand and translate User requirements into sound technical specifications and to relate technical details in plain English to Users will be essential to your success in this role. Furthermore, your ability to report on project progress through program / budget comparatives, including drafting progress and financial reports will be crucial to your success in this role.
