The College of Liberal Arts is one of eight colleges at Colorado State University with over 550 regular- and special-appointment faculty in 13 departments: Anthropology, Art & Art History, Communication Studies, Economics, English, Ethnic Studies, History, Journalism & Media Communication, Languages, Literatures & Cultures, Philosophy, Political Science, School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and Sociology.
Do have a knack for digital storytelling and an impressive design portfolio? Do you think with both the left and right sides of your brain? The CSU College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is seeking an experienced marketing mind to join our team as Digital Media Specialist.

This role has a high degree of creative freedom and visibility requiring strong leadership skills, an innovative mindset, and a well-developed ability to juggle multiple project simultaneously. You will create compelling content in a timely manner, set digital and social media strategy, evaluate communication metrics, and effectively teach engaging strategies to a larger team.
This position requires the ability to work nights and weekends.
Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, marketing, or other communications-related field.
Two years full-time professional work experience in communications, marketing, or other creative field.
Engaging writing ability as demonstrated by cover letter.
Demonstrated ability to craft compelling copy for a diverse range of audiences.
Demonstrated experience designing engaging content for digital mediums.
Fluency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and WordPress.

Demonstrated experience creating visual content including photography, web design, and/or video.
Demonstrated experience tracking and evaluating communication metrics.

Job Duty Category Create, share, and manage content Duty/Responsibility
Work with students, alumni, and faculty to create content for use across multiple platforms.
Serve as the principal copywriter for both print projects and digital platforms.
Develop and implement visual content for web, social media, and print projects.
Create, repurpose, and post content on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube).
Manage CLA website, including regular updates to news and events, creation of graphics, and photo selection.
Coordinate digital screen advertisements in CLA buildings.
Serve as in-house graphic designer, photographer and videographer on an as needed basis,.
Update and maintain CLA photo and video library.
In collaboration with Director of Communications, maintain content strategy calendar.

Support CLA departments/units/programs as the principal branding, design, and digital media consultant.
Collaborate with department communicators to develop and publicize digital content.
Coordinate projects with Creative Services and outside vendors, including print and digital projects, CLA promotional items, event materials, tablecloths, banners, etc.
Attend, and sometimes lead monthly CLA communications professional development series.
Serve as design and digital strategy consultant for CLA Development team, working closely with the Assistant Director of Development.
Sit on the CSU social media committee and contribute to the monthly blog.
Work in the Division of External Relations one afternoon each week to increase collaboration between the Division and the College.
Attend campus communications meetings scheduled by the Division of External Relations.

Identify compelling student stories for the Division of External Relations PR team.
Maintain database of all CLA press.
Assist with PR, outreach, and social media for CLA events, including Commencement, Ram Welcome, CURC, Festival on the Oval, Lagoon Concert Series, Denver Art Week, etc.

Bring forward new initiatives that will enhance CLA communications strategy.
Work closely with CSU Creative Services on CSU and CLA brand.
Co-coordinate strategy and execution of online magazine.
Work closely with CLA webmaster to manage CLA website.

Monitor peer and competitor marketing for communication trends, best practices, and creative approaches.
