Senior Lecturer in Primary Mathematics and Learning and Teaching

Full time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

This is an opportunity for an excellent teacher with UK QTS to join our friendly and highly motivated team of lecturers to teach primary mathematics on our Initial Teacher Education programmes and to contribute to the Learning and Teaching pathway of our undergraduate Education Studies degree. Are you a qualified, knowledgeable mathematics specialist and excellent classroom practitioner who could join our expert staff team, contribute to our programmes and inspire a range of learners? We are looking for someone who will be able to take a professional lead in primary mathematics within a year of appointment. You must have a strong understanding of pedagogy in primary mathematics teaching along with evidence of outstanding practice and your personal commitment to reflective learning and teaching.  

You will have the subject knowledge and professional expertise to provide inspiring primary mathematics input to students on ITE but also to contribute to the Learning and Teaching pathway of the BA (Hons) Education Studies and to other relevant programmes. Working in other areas of the School’s portfolio is expected and would be negotiated with the successful applicant. As an academic in the School of Education you will be engaged in research and scholarship in a relevant area.

This is a full-time, permanent post which is based at the de Havilland Campus, Hatfield in Hertfordshire.
