About the opportunity
UON Graduate Research plays a major role in ensuring the UON has established goals and lead strategies to ensure that UON has a sector-leading Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program, attractive to both domestic and international candidates and is active in engaging with industry and the wider community.
The Project Manager, Operational Development and Governance will play a key role in day-to-day operations of UON Graduate Research, actively contributing to the re-design of existing systems and processes, and implement newly devised work practices to ensure the efficiency of the unit.
In response to legislative changes and the UON's ambitious goals set for Higher Degrees by Research (HDR), there is a need for a re-design of existing systems, processes and the implementation of new systems. This position will be instrumental in leading these developments to ensure UON Graduate Research complies with legislative requirements and continues to provide a high level of service to all stakeholders.
Responsible to the Manager, Operations, the Project Manager Operational Development and Governance will provide high level advice to the Dean of Graduate Research and Manager, Operations in key areas of governance, candidature management and business improvement.
This opportunity is offered on a full-time, 2 year fixed term contract basis.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Proven record of interpreting and applying government and institutional policy, including managing compliance.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working independently and within a team to deliver projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and to work effectively to manage competing priorities.

HEW 8 - $94,839 to $110,645 plus superannuation.
