The Catering and Events Assistant is responsible for overseeing event related activity, including setup and break down of rooms for events, and is the critical link between venue, catering suppliers, catering delivery and event clients. The role is also responsible for the purchase, preparation and provision of food, beverage and catering requirements during events as well as organisation of catering suppliers and orders, and of the upkeep of event equipment and facility areas. This is a physically demanding role, requiring the safe movement of furniture and equipment between a number of spaces to ensure event requirements are met.
Applicants should possess as a minimum a Certificate in Food Handling Level 1, and a willingness to undertake training to obtain a food safety supervisor certificate. An understanding of hospitality and events management under-pinned by significant hands-on experience is required, as is a demonstrated customer-focused approach.
This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment HEW Level 4. The remuneration package will be in the range $59,429 to $63,305 per annum including employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package $69,532-$74,067 per annum).
