Position Description

Harvard University is seeking applicants in the life sciences for a position as a John Harvard Distinguished Science Fellow. We seek to appoint one person across the widest branch of the life sciences with a second position for an applicant who has an interest in imaging.

The Fellows will be part of the current JHDSF community and affiliated with one of the Life Science departments in FAS. Both fellows will be associated with the FAS Center for Systems Biology and the imaging fellow will be associated with the Harvard Center for Advanced Imaging. The Center for Systems Biology is an intensively collaborative, interdisciplinary center, where scientists from a wide variety of backgrounds study cellular pathways and networks, with the goal of finding general principles underlying the structure, behavior and evolution of cells and organisms. The Center for Advanced Imaging aims to develop novel imaging methods to enable direct visualization of the molecular interactions and networks inside cells, organisms and animals, to bridge major gaps in bioimaging, and to apply these new technologies to solving biological problems.

The Fellows are independent researchers, who have completed a PhD within twelve months of their appointment, who receive funding to run a small research group and are appointed for a three-year term, with the expectation that it will be extended by two years after review.
