Research Study Position available in the Duprex Lab in the NEIDL to study virus evolution in vitro and in vivo. This independent research project will be under the direction of the PI, Paul Duprex. Successful applicants should be a highly proficient biologist who has significant experience in 1) modeling host-pathogen interactions; 2) working with BSL-2 pathogens; 3) using a wide range of immunology techniques; and 4) using computational approaches to understand the dynamic of infectious disease spread.
1-3 years of experience and Doctoral Degree required.
Applicant should have a Ph.D. (M.D. preferred)in infectious diseases with recent immunological experience and experience in an infectious disease laboratory. Must be accomplished in using a wide range of mathematical modeling programs to understand host-pathogen interactions in laboratory and clinical settings. Applicant must have publications in high impact journals, have some grant writing experience and experience in presenting data orally at lab meetings, seminars, and both international and domestic scientific meetings.
