Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Biomedical Sciences
School of Medicine, Western Sydney University
Full-Time, Ongoing Position, Campbelltown Campus
Ranked amongst the top three per cent of Universities on the globe, Western Sydney is a world-class University with a growing international reach and reputation for academic excellence and impact-driven research. We are a major urban university spread over six campuses in Greater Western Sydney, a region of great opportunity, diversity, challenge and growth. The University has a strong connection to Greater Western Sydney, working with its communities and businesses to contribute to the region’s growth.
While the School of Medicine was established to address the shortage of doctors serving Greater Western Sydney, the vision of the Foundation Dean, Professor Neville Yeomans, was for it to be a research-intensive School at the outset. The School has been successful in achieving that vision in its first ten years, and will continue to build on its research profile and performance across the domains of medical sciences, translational research and clinical medicine and health services.
The Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor will contribute to and lead teaching, research, research supervision and administration in the Biomedical Sciences Unit in the School of Medicine. The appointee will be committed to the education of future medical practitioners.
The successful candidate will be primarily involved in the implementation and continuing development of the Biomedical Sciences course curriculum of the MBBS program and the ongoing development of the Units research agenda. The incumbent will work under the broad direction of the Professor of Anatomy & Cell biology and will maintain an emphasis on excellence in scholarship through teaching and research.
This is a full time, ongoing appointment.
