Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the ongoing development and innovation in IB programmes through leading and managing curriculum development of designated programme components. To lead and manage all aspects of curriculum development in designated DP subjects and to provide quality curriculum support for the subjects.

Job Duties:

Reporting to one of the heads of curriculum development in the DP/CP development department, the post holder is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of curriculum development, and providing quality curriculum support for the following subjects:

  • World Religions
  • Another Diploma Programme subject, particularly within Individuals and Societies, with a preference for Philosophy.

In addition to the general job description for a curriculum manager, the role will include:

  • Ensuring that the components of the DP core (TOK, EE, CAS), are integrated appropriately into guides and curriculum support for the designated subjects
  • Ensuring that the IB learner profile and the student skills and pedagogical principles of approaches to teaching and learning (ATL) are integrated appropriately into guides and curriculum support for the designated subjects
  • Participating in working groups convened for specific departmental (DP/CP development), divisional (academic) or organizational initiatives and projects, as agreed and requested by the Chief Academic Officer, the Head of DP/CP development or one of the Heads of curriculum development.

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification at degree level
  • Significant post-qualification experience in teaching in relevant curriculum areas
  • An understanding of current developments and trends in teaching and learning
  • Demonstrates good organizational and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent writing skills in English, which is the working language of the organization
  • The ability to lead and work within a team and to foster a collaborative environment
  • Competency in using standard Office software
  • A willingness to accommodate innovative ways of working with and using digital media
  • The ability to manage multiple projects to agreed timelines
  • Ability to present effectively for a variety of audiences and purposes
  • Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumni is a plus.

 An international hire package will be available to assist a successful candidate to relocate to the Netherlands.

The position will involve some international travel and weekend work.
