Professor of Macroeconomics

Research is at the centre of Cardiff Business School's activities. Cardiff Business School is ranked 6th in the UK for the quality of its research in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and is one of only two business schools in the UK to be ranked in the top ten in each of the Government’s five assessment exercises since 1992.

Cardiff Business School now seeks to appoint a Professor of Macroeconomics to join a team that is heavily involved in policy-relevant work. There are around 45 full-time PhD students in residence, pursuing a PhD programme over two years of coursework (an MSc (Econ) and an MRes) followed by two years for the thesis. The Section also teaches MScs in Financial Economics and in International Economics, Banking and Finance, which attract more than 300 students each year. It runs a variety of undergraduate courses for Economics and related degree schemes; besides the many students in the Business School taking economics courses as part of related degrees, there are some 400 students
pursuing specialised Economics degrees.

This Professorial position is open-ended.

The salary will be on the Professorial scale and will be commensurate with the experience and achievements of the successful applicant.
