Senior Library Assistant
Salary: Up to £30,000.00 per annum, depending on experience
Status: Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Greenwich or Greenford Campus, with flexibility to work across all sites

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Library Assistant to join our growing organisation. Within this role you will lead and pro-actively support the effective management of Library and Learning Resources within GSM London; which includes both physical and online resources. You will supervise the work of a small team of Library Assistants and oversee the day-to-day operations of the enquiries desk services and staff rota. You will also ensure provision of basic IT support within the Library, a productive study environment and delivery of services which meet the needs of students and staff across the organisation.
To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified in a relevant subject discipline or possess equivalent experience, and demonstrate experience within a similar role in an academic or specialised library service. You will possess superior customer service and communication skills, management or supervisory experience, initiative and have the ability to be planned and organised in a busy environment. In addition you will have experience in the use of library management systems and Microsoft Office applications. Your knowledge of online business and legal information resources will be highly regarded.

Please note: Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, on a rota basis. Evening and occasional weekend working will be required.
This role may require additional flexibility in working hours during peak times and times of need in order to support the opening hours of our Libraries which operate from 08.30 to 21.00, Monday to Friday.
