Non-Clinical Lecturer in Gene Therapy (3 posts)

The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £42,304 - £49,904 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Applications are invited for Lectureships to take forward research into gene and cell therapy. We are looking for excellent scientists, with a background in gene editing, gene therapy, stem cell technologies or bioinformatics, to play an integral part in the academic programme of one of the top gene therapy centres in the world.

The programme has attracted international recognition and acclaim for UCL and Great Ormond Street Hospital and is also now attracting significant pharma/commercial interest. There is a broad spectrum of expertise ranging from basic vector biology, through proof of concept studies to implementation of clinical trials. Our close relationship with the unique patient population at Great Ormond Street Hospital allows early translation to clinical studies.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong academic track record, who will be expected to develop an independent research programme in the field of gene therapy or a related discipline. The post holder will be expected to contribute to teaching on relevant UCL UG and PG programmes, including those run by UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health in Paediatrics, Child Health and a specific MSc in Gene and Cell Therapy.

Applicants must have a PhD in a field relevant to gene and cell therapy, an active research profile at postdoctoral level and first/last author original research publications in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals in a field relevant to gene therapy.
