Faculty Director of Research and Development

Full-time, Grade 9/10.  A professorial appointment will be available for candidates who meet the relevant criteria.

The Faculty of Health, Science and Technology at University of Suffolk, Ipswich seeks to appoint a new Faculty Director of Research and Development.

A permanent academic appointment is available, with a 3 year tenure as Faculty Director of Research and Development in the first instance.  Tenure in the role is renewable.

The post holder will work across the Faculty to support the development of an innovative portfolio of enterprise and research across the professions and disciplines. With significant responsibility across the Faculty and working closely with Heads of Department, the successful applicant will be a member of the Faculty Executive, Chair the Faculty Research Ethics Committee and will be accountable to the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Faculty of Health, Science and Technology.  They will network widely, identifying and promoting opportunities for enterprise, applied research and knowledge transfer across the disciplines and support academic staff in pursuing opportunities for funding. They will also support the PVC in monitoring relevant outputs and in the development of a submission for REF 2021.  It is anticipated that the successful applicant will contribute to teaching within the Faculty, as agreed with the Pro-Vice Chancellor and relevant Head of Department.
