The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Lecturer in Soil Chemistry will contribute to the teaching and research activities in the area of Environmental Science. You will work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics to make a significant contribution to research by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities leading to publications, grants and contracts. As part of a team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of innovative courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level for programs, and for delivery of quality field work exercises. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with knowledge of academic administration particularly in relation to student related issues are essential.
Skills & Experience Required
To be eligible to apply, candidates must have a PhD in environmental or soil chemistry, or equivalent, and demonstrated expertise in soil chemistry related to urban land contamination. You will have a focus on the analytical science of contamination by trace metals or organic chemicals and associated environmental and human health risks.
You will have demonstrated ability to teach into core courses of Environmental Science programs and the ability to prepare high quality curriculum and course materials at tertiary level for undergraduate and post-graduate programs. Furthermore, you will have a demonstrated ability to undertake independent research that will contribute to existing School research areas, as evidenced by a strong research track record in publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and building industry links and/or international collaborations
