Durham University Assessment Centre is seeking a disability specialist to assess the academic support requirements of disabled students in higher education and identify appropriate funded support via the Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) scheme.
You will undertake comprehensive, student-focussed assessments tailored to students’ disabilities. You will have advanced interview skills and the ability to demonstrate and evaluate assistive technology. You will work autonomously, using your professional judgement to recommend optimum learning strategies and resources to enable students to succeed in higher education. As you will be advocating the distribution of public funds you will work within strict criteria; transparently and to the highest professional standards in a high-pressure, deadline intensive environment.
