ABOUT THE ROLE
Deakin Law School has undertaken a substantial investment in enhancing capability by recruiting exceptional academic educated at universities including Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, UC Berkeley and Michigan. These scholars bring a wealth of real-world experience and an ambitious research agenda. We are seeking to build on that transformational process by recruiting academics with expertise in:
- Human Rights Law
- Constitutional Law
- Corporate Law
- IP Law.
The Professor will promote a collegial academic environment, fostering a culture of enthusiastic achievement and encouraging excellence in all the School’s activities. The candidate is expected to have a national and international profile for excellence in the field demonstrated by high quality journal publications. A record of external grant funding is desirable.
This will include:
- Delivering excellent teaching in assigned courses and make an outstanding contribution to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs.
- Undertaking and publish high-quality research in journals of national and international reputation.
- Actively contributing to the development of the School’s research agenda, including a strong performance in Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA).
- Participating in competitive external research funding activities and generate research income through application to major funding bodies.
The successful candidate will have high level management skills and a demonstrated capacity to positively shape and influence the activities of colleagues and staff.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded scholar with a strong research track-record, having supervised doctoral students to completion and a demonstrated reputation as an educator.
