The College of Business (CoB) comprises six schools delivering a broad range of programs in Business, ranging from Certificates up to PHD levels. Many programs articulate between Vocational Education (VE)and Higher Education (HE), creating pathways for further study. RMIT Business programs are delivered in Melbourne, Vietnam, Singapore, Shanghai and Jakarta, as well as through Open Universities Australia (OUA).

The Academic Development Group (ADG) supports academic and teaching staff in the HE and VE sectors of the CoB to create a transformative student experience through targeted work in curriculum and co-curricular innovation; digital design and production, professional development, assessment, feedback, continuous quality improvement, online and blended delivery in developing and improving teaching and learning in accordance with the Teaching and Learning Strategy and the Program Quality Assurance processes of the University and College.

The role

This critical position is responsible for the management of the ADG including leading and managing the team to support the College in all aspects of learning and teaching and for managing the budget for the Group. This includes the continuous improvement of all aspects of teaching and learning of College programs, the use of educational technologies to expand into new digital spaces, the delivery of targeted staff professional development, and the development of bodies of work which deliver on the RMIT ready for life and work strategy. Project work also forms an important part of the work of the Group and needs to be managed in addition to ongoing work demands.

Your responsibilities

The ideal candidate will bring to the role expertise to lead and support the transformation of the student experience including professional development, quality enhancement, employability and curriculum re-imagination across the business suite of programs. An ability to design, develop and deliver successful system wide processes to improve teaching and learning outcomes in a university environment will be critical to your success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be your extensive leadership experience and highly developed communication skills in the provision of written and verbal advice to senior levels of the University Involving synthesis and analysis of information.

An appropriate qualification in education or management (or related discipline) or equivalent experience is required.
