The School of Engineering and Computer Science (SoECS) at the University of Hull is a large size academic unit with a focus on Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science.  The School has a long history of delivering MEng, BEng, BSc programmes accredited by IET, IMEchE and BSC.  Following the establishment of the School of Engineering and Computer Science in 2016, by bring together and integrating the cognate disciplines of Engineering and Computer Science, the School has conducted a comprehensive curriculum review of its current undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes with a view of expanding its portfolio at the boundaries and intersections between Engineering and Computer Science.  To support this growth strategy, the School wishes to recruit a Director of Learning and Teaching to lead, develop and implement the new portfolio of programmes.

The Director of Learning and Teaching will work closely with the School’s Senior Management team and Faculty Management Team to identify potential new subject areas and programmes, develop business cases and strategic decision making to define the direction of the School’s future growth and sustainability. In addition the Director of Learning and Teaching will work with Academic, Technical and Professional Services Staff to implement the University’s learning and teaching processes and initiatives along with introducing technology enabled teaching and assessment methods.
