Salary is in the range £41,458 to £49,059 per annum inclusive of London Allowance

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Creative Writing in the Department of English.

The successful candidate will join a team of prize-winning writers in the department, including Jo Shapcott, Susanna Jones, Douglas Cowie, Benjamin Markovits, Redell Olsen, Adam Roberts, and Nikita Lalwani; with two other appointments pending. 

You will have a national profile as an author and a good publication record, and ideally experience of teaching. You will have demonstrated the ability to work with others in teaching and/or administration. The essential qualification for this role is educated to PHD level or equivalent. 

Candidates will be expected to provide teaching in creative writing at BA level, with an emphasis on play and screenwriting, though the ability to teach poetry and/or poetic practice will also be considered. The appointee will be expected to publish and to teach in the area; to foster the work of students seeking publication; and to supervise research students in creative writing. 

This is a full time and permanent post, available from September 2017. This post is primarily based at the College’s main site at Egham, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London, but may also involve MA teaching at the College’s central London building in Bedford Square WC1.
