The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources. The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to enhance the career readiness of students by managing a strategy to support the employment of RMIT students at RMIT. The Student Employment Officer will coordinate RMIT's Jobs on Campus Program and will develop, monitor and enhance the program, which facilitates paid employment opportunities for RMIT students within RMIT University. With this position being responsible for expanding opportunities for student employment at RMIT as well as the provision of support to internal departments employing students. This role will also oversee and lead third party recruitment projects that aim to place students and graduates into employment. Regular reporting against KPI's and evaluation reports on the program and third party projects will be regularly provided to the Manager, Employment and Employer Services.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have confident communication and networking skills in order to develop and support relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including a diverse student population and will have experience in developing, implementing and promoting work opportunities to students or graduates. Your experience in the development of resources and the delivery of training programs that are targeted and responsive to stakeholder needs will be key to your success in this role. Furthermore, your demonstrated understanding of student and graduate employment and recruitment practice as well as your proven analytical, planning, organisational and project management skills, including report writing will be essential to your success in this role.
