Environmental Planning is a key programme within the School of Social Sciences. It is an area of growth, offering the inter-disciplinary Bachelor of Environmental Planning and Masters of Environmental Planning degrees.

Applications are invited from individuals at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level with expertise in Environmental Planning research and teaching. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing programme. We offer degrees, certificates and diplomas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through to PhD. Our four-year Bachelor of Environmental Planning degree offers a multidisciplinary research-led programme which emphasises the integrated nature of planning through the delivery of papers from social, economic, political and environmental sciences.

For a Lecturer level appointment you will have a PhD, a growing national or international profile and the ability to teach across all levels, including Masters and PhD supervision. Other key attributes include the potential to attract high-quality postgraduate research students and external research funding, along with a commitment to innovation.

For a Senior Lecturer level appointment you will have a PhD, an excellent research and scholarship record with a national and international profile and successful teaching experience at all levels. Other key attributes include demonstrated success in attracting external research funding and high-quality post graduate research students, along with a commitment to innovation.

Broad and in-depth knowledge of environmental planning theories and practices and professional membership of a planning institute are essential requirements.

The appointee will be expected to develop links and strengthen relationships with related departments in the University as well as community, national and international organisations.

Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$69,379 to $84,706 per year and for Senior Lecturers is NZ$86,840 to $116,478 per year.
