The School of Women’s & Children’s Health is comprised of the disciplines of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and the National Perinatal and Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU). The School provides undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, significant and expert clinical services across its subspecialties and has a strong research focus across the multiple disciplines.
About the role
- $69K - $78K plus 9.5% superannuation and annual leave loading
- Fixed Term for 12 months, with possibility of extension dependent on grant funding
- Full-time (35 hours per week)
The position will support ongoing investigations by the Australasian Centre for Personalised Cystic Fibrosis Medicine (ACPCFM). The position will provide technical, research and administrative support for senior research staff and students on several research studies involving primary cell culture, cloning, protein IP, bacterial culture, qPCR, RNA Sequencing and biobanking, handling of precious clinical samples.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will have an Honours Degree qualification in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or a related discipline; previous experience in a laboratory application of cell culture, molecular biology techniques and handling of clinical samples; excellent writing skills, interpersonal and communication skills, initiative and problem solving skills. You are required to undergo pre-employment checks prior to appointment to this role including a criminal record check.
