UNSW Art & Design has an admirable record in cutting edge research and provides facilities that are world class, showcasing the work of its academic staff and students to the broader community.
UNSW Art & Design’s Making Centre is seeking expressions of interest from art & design practitioners to join our team of technical staff on a casual basis. The Making Centre’s technical staff are responsible for the day to day operations of Workshops and Labs on the Faculty’s Paddington Campus.
We provide expert knowledge and technical skills that facilitate making in support of the Faculty’s academic programs, and provide technical support to staff and students, while applying and monitoring the appropriate Work Health and Safety procedures and guidelines.
The Centre currently supports student projects in the following media:
- Ceramics Digital Fabrication Interactive Media Metalwork (Fabrication and Welding) Photography Printmaking Screen Printing Sound Textiles Video Virtual Reality Woodwork
Our aim is to create student centric environments that foster an open, investigative, experimental and interdisciplinary approach to making.
Ideally, you should have some experience of working in an educational setting.
