Position Overview

The ANU Medical School is seeking expressions of interest to fill the position of Deputy Dean. The Deputy Dean is a key position in the Medical School and is essential to achieve the School's strategic goals. The role has particular responsibilities in ensuring the day to day delivery of the MChD and other programs/courses relevant to the Medical School, their continuous quality improvement and alignment to the university's strategic directions in medicine and health science education, and their meeting the accreditation requirements of the AMC.

As the Deputy Dean, ANU Medical School, you will have a clearly demonstrable capability as a successful leader, determined to seeing the School flourish. You will be strongly committed to achieving excellence in medical education including scholarship in teaching and learning.

You will have a rich knowledge of contemporary medical educational practice. Experience in developing and implementing an innovative learning and teaching experience is essential. You will be an experienced and effective team leader, with the ability to harness the collective strengths of the team to achieve organisational goals.

It is of critical importance that you are experienced in effectively liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders - including clinicians and academics and in the delivery of medical education program.

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, with an established national and international academic profile equivalent to appointment at Academic Level E.

This appointment is for a fixed term, pending future recruitment action, up until 31 December 2018, with the possibility of extension.
