THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

THE HESELTINE INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY AND PRACTICE

Deputy Director of the Heseltine Institute for Public Policy and Practice
(Senior Lecturer / Reader / Personal Chair)

The Institute offers research and policy analysis on the development of successful, sustainable cities and city-regions in an unstable global world. It provides a forum to connect practitioners, policy-makers and academics interested in key questions such as:

  • What will make our Cities and City regions economically sustainable?
  • How can City environments become healthier and more liveable?
  • What governance arrangements best enable Cities and citizens to thrive?
  • What is the role of culture, heritage and digital technologies in making the Cities of the future?

You will lead and manage the Institute, growing its national profile, connecting with national and regional policymakers, commissioning studies, contributing to key civic projects and linking the University’s wealth of talented researchers to policy audiences locally, nationally and globally. Flexible working arrangements would be considered for exceptional candidates wishing to maintain other commitments that support their performance in these exciting roles.

Closing Date: 5 April 2017
