The University invites applications for a Professor of Microbiology to work within the School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The School works with Western Australia's largest pathology service provider, PathWest.

The Professor of Microbiology will provide academic leadership in the field of clinical or biomedical microbiology and be a leader in the broadest sense with:

  • an established reputation in their discipline and an outstanding track record of research, teaching and academic
  • leadership in the field of microbiology;
  • a track record of attracting research grants;
  • a sustained and significant record of building research teams;
  • a demonstrated ability to contribute to a collegiate environment within the School.

The appointee will be engaged in a world-class program of research, excellent teaching to a broad range of students and lead engagement with the academic, professional, scientific and medical communities.

The Professor of Microbiology will also play an active leadership role in contributing to the strategic direction of the School and the University as a whole.
