Job Description

Create visibility for the College of Fine Arts (CFA) events and programs including securing media coverage of performances and exhibitions, cultivating feature coverage of noteworthy faculty and academic initiatives and programs and building audiences for CFA events. Reach out to the University community and Greater Boston arts patrons to build community. Report to the Director of Communications, create a strong media relations presence in shaping and coordinating communications objectives of CFAs Schools and Departments. Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, national and international news and trade editors and producers. Research and monitor media information pertaining to the College of Fine Arts. Secure strategic media placements in print, TV, radio, and digital communication outlets.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S., preferably in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism. Five to eight years of professional level experience in the field. Excellent written and spoken English language skills and the ability to communicate clearly in written and oral form. Proficiency with WordPress, Constant Contact, Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hootsuite and Instagram. Experience with Meltwater, Google Analytics, Video editing and mobile apps a plus.
