Job Description

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Boston University seeks applicants for the exciting and challenging position of Learning Experience Designer. The Learning Experience Designer provides high-level support to the Centers faculty and programs, promotes teaching excellence and innovation, fosters student learning, and builds community at BU, with a focus on the CTLs General Education (BU Hub) programs and services. This position evolves as the Center grows and offers significant opportunities for personal and professional growth. CTL staff are encouraged to take advantage of educational and training opportunities throughout the University and beyond. Work associated with this position gives the Learning Experience Designer opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the University community and also meet and work with students, graduate students, and faculty. This will be a three year position, with the option to extend based on performance and programming needs.

Required Skills

The Learning Experience Designer will work closely with the CTL Director, faculty, departments, and schools to support pedagogy that is inclusive, centered on general education (BU Hub), and proven to be effective. Work directly with faculty in a variety of professional learning settings including individual consultations, learning communities, formal workshops, and informal settings. As a member of the team, this position will help to shape a bold vision for the future of BUs General Education around active, learner-centered pedagogies by helping faculty to self-efficacy in all aspects of their pedagogy, particularly with respect to general education. Work as a contributing and collegial member of a team, and to communicate proactively within the team environment.
