This post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled statistician to join the School of Clinical Sciences Musculoskeletal Research Unit as part of the newly awarded 5-year NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). Working within the Surgical Innovation theme of the BRC, the post holder will be expected to develop and deliver high quality and rigorous research into improving outcomes after orthopaedic surgery. This work will include analysis of the National Joint Registry to identify associations with improved care, develop novel methods of outlier detection and prediction, and build decision aids for patients having joint replacement.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent considerable experience) in a discipline of relevance to statistics. We are particularly interested in appointing someone with specific knowledge and demonstrable experience of handling large and complex datasets.
