The School of Engineering offers seven engineering programmes, including the new Civil Engineering programme.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding academic scholar with strong industry links to lead the development of our new degree programme in Civil Engineering. You will have a demonstrated excellent track-record in university teaching and student supervision, at all levels. A research record of sustained excellence demonstrated through quality publications in peer reviewed journals and a recognised contribution to the academic field at a national and international level are essential requirements along with success in winning external research grants.

You will have a PhD in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline, be a Chartered Engineer with membership of an Engineering Professional body. Technical expertise for this position will be in either structural or geotechnical engineering which ideally complements existing research activities in the Faculty such as urban design, material science, mechatronics, electronic sensors and networks, wastewater treatment, oceanographic engineering or earth sciences.

Current salary range for Associate Professors is NZ$113,421 to $129,212 per year and Professors NZ$132,083 plus, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
