IB Examiner for Visual Arts
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of:
IB Examiners for Visual Arts
The IB Diploma Programme visual arts course encourages students to challenge their own creative and cultural expectations and boundaries. It is a thought-provoking course in which students develop analytical skills in problem-solving and divergent thinking, while working towards technical proficiency and confidence as art-makers. In addition to exploring and comparing visual arts from different perspectives and in different contexts, students are expected to engage in, experiment with and critically reflect upon a wide range of contemporary practices and media.
We are seeking to recruit visual arts examiners in our Diploma Programme (DP) to mark externally assessed work or to moderate internally assessed components (reviewing the original marking of teachers).
Applicants must have:
- a minimum of one year’s ongoing experience teaching the subject to students aged 15 or above
- academic qualifications in the subject at an appropriate level
- availability during the assessment period in order to complete marking (April-May or May-June)
- reliable broadband internet connection in an environment that is suitable for marking examination material.
All IB examiners are paid a fee per piece of work marked. The greatest benefit to an examiner comes from the insight and the professional development that is acquired through the experience of examining. This experience helps teachers to improve the quality of their teaching.
