This post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled qualitative researcher to join the School of Clinical Sciences Musculoskeletal Research Unit as part of the newly awarded 5-year NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). Working within the Surgical Innovation theme of the BRC, the post holder will be expected to develop and deliver high quality and rigorous research focused on the design of interventions that aim to improve outcomes after orthopaedic surgery, particularly in the context of surgery for people who have been living with long-term and painful conditions. The post-holder will also be involved in running the Qualitative Research Network that works across the whole BRC. This post is part-time (0.5FTE).
 
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent considerable experience) in a discipline of relevance to qualitative health research. Examples of relevant disciplines include health psychology, medical sociology or medical anthropology. We are particularly interested in appointing someone with specific knowledge and demonstrable experience of intervention design.
