Research Fellow in Antimicrobial Stewardship

Salary: $66,809 - $90,657 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
As an enthusiastic and competent research fellow in production animal antimicrobial stewardship the role will involve leading research activities in the area of production animal antimicrobial stewardship and collaborating widely with other staff and postgraduate students in the faculty who work in the areas of antimicrobial stewardship and veterinary microbiology, as well as research higher degree students and research fellows in the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship.
The role involves development of methods for assessing patterns of antimicrobial use and interventions to ensure more responsible use of antimicrobials, and also laboratory-based studies, including molecular studies. The role is primarily based at the University of Melbourne's Parkville campus but will also involve travel to farming enterprises and rural veterinary practices. The role will synergise with research work on antimicrobial stewardship of companion animals. The role is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council under the Centres of Research Excellence scheme – the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship.
