The Melbourne School of Engineering (MSE) at the University of Melbourne is a leading provider of engineering and IT education in Australia. The Head of the School of Computing and Information Systems (CIS) is a member of the leadership team for the MSE and will help to set the overall strategic directions and performance objectives for MSE. They will provide dynamic leadership and act as a role model and an effective mentor for other academic staff. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership capacity in leading a substantial cohort of (academic) staff and engaging with diverse stakeholders at all levels, as well as hold a research-based, doctoral degree in a relevant field aligned with the School of Computing and Information Systems at Melbourne and be recognised as an academic of international standing. They will also have a strong appreciation of and alignment with the strategic direction of the University and the School of Engineering as articulated in the Growing Esteem 2020 and MSE2025 strategic documents.
