Position Summary

Supervise, plan, and execute day-to-day field operations for the Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) component for the Integrated Training Area Management program as part of the Sustainable Range Program support at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Specific Areas of Responsibility are listed below in essential job duties section.

Required Job Qualifications

  • The completion of a four-year degree in land management, construction management, landscape architecture or related field.
  • Experience in project oversight, implementation, evaluation, and inspection is necessary.
  • Experience with wildland/agricultural land rehabilitation, construction techniques, and erosion control practices in the southeastern United States.
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Class A CDL driver’s license by the employment start date.
  • U.S Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Four years of experience in land rehabilitation projects, construction supervision, and construction inspection is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of erosion control, construction techniques and design, and experience with scoping and execution of land rehabilitation and maintenance (LRAM) projects are a plus.
  • Experience operating personal computer workstations; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse, concurrent responsibilities; and strong leadership, team building, and motivational skills are beneficial.

Execute Day to Day Field Operations of the LRAM Component of the ITAM Program

Duty/Responsibility

Execute Day to Day Field Operations of the LRAM Component. Tasks include but are not limited to: 1) Directs Field Crew, and as needed operates equipment, in the performance of maintenance, upkeep, and repair of ITAM and Training Division facilities and training lands as directed using manual labor, heavy equipment, light equipment, hand-held power tools, and manual tools, 2) Performs minor maintenance and repair of ITAM and Training Division facilities and training lands as directed using manual labor, heavy equipment, light equipment, power and manual hand tools, 3) Monitor recurring maintenance of training resources, 4) Direct LRAM Equipment Operators in day-to-day operations when required; maintain daily reports, and convey technical information and guidance to and from engineers, engineer troop units, or tradesmen, heavy equipment operators, labors, and professionals employed in the various directorate programs, 5) Conduct GSWCC (Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission) erosion and sediment control operator actions on all ITAM and Training Division projects as directed, 6) Prepares reports, studies, analysis and assessments related to work effort and equipment maintenance, 7) Operate computer-based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, preparing and delivering reports to LRAM Coordinator.
