This is a rare opportunity to continue to develop your academic career in a collegial and collaborative environment at the heart of New Zealand's nexus of industry, research and government sectors. Wellington's landscape and lifestyle, along with Victoria University's standing as the top research institute in New Zealand and in the top 2% worldwide, means that this position is an outstanding combination of academic opportunity and work/life balance. The Faculty's strategic direction and commitment to collaborative, inter-disciplinary and globally impactful academic work will mean that academics will be able to enhance both their research and teaching portfolios.

The University is developing new industry-engaged teaching programmes in areas directly relevant to ICT, initially focusing on Software Engineering and Electronics. These new programmes are at the taught-Masters level, and involve delivering a suite of courses in communication, project skills, and team skills.

The successful candidate will be given a permanent position and will have responsibility for teaching in both the School's existing undergraduate engineering programme, as well as contribute in part to the development, delivery and coordination of these new taught-Masters programmes. The successful candidate will have a research focus in either Software Engineering or Electronics, and especially be able to deliver teaching in the areas of communication, project skills, and team skills. An ability to relate to industry and to students from different cultures is required, and the preferred candidate would have industry experience.

Victoria University of Wellington is New Zealand’s top ranked research University, and this is an excellent opportunity to come and join a collegial and collaborative team at the very center of one of the safest, greenest, most stable and most livable countries in the world, with first world infrastructure and a flourishing industry.
