Job Description

The Department of Biology and the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience at Boston University invite applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning September 1, 2017, renewable based on satisfactory performance. We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching. Teaching responsibilities include 4 lecture and discussion-based courses per year in the areas of introductory biology, animal physiology, and behavioral neuroendocrinology. The successful candidate will have a PhD in neuroscience, biology or a related field, and experience with evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. The position will involved active engagement in the academic life of the Biology and Neuroscience programs, such as serving as an academic advisor to a cohort of undergraduate neuroscience and biology majors, coordinating student peer-mentoring programs, developing curricular materials, serving as a research mentor for undergraduates, participating in Senior Thesis, Master's or PhD committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives. We are especially interested in candidates who will enhance the diversity and excellence of our academic community.
