DMU is an ambitious, truly globally-minded institution with a relentless focus on delivering high quality teaching and research. A culturally rich university with a strong commitment to the public good, it strives to maintain a stimulating, innovative and inclusive environment where staff and students are able to thrive.

The Department of Strategic Management and Marketing, a key component of Leicester Business School, comprises four subject groups (Business and Management, Economics, Enterprise and Marketing). It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to more than 1,700 students. Our rapidly growing academic community delivers an outstanding learning experience to students and has an active research community, evidenced by the Department’s recently launched Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (with research interests in ethnic/migrant entrepreneurship, innovation, the resilient enterprise, and the consumer, enterprise and society).

The Marketing subject group currently consists of 16 full time members of staff and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Excellent teaching is at the heart of our commitment to professional, creative education and the team pride themselves on their innovative approach to programme development, teaching methods and assessments. As part of our expansion programme, we are seeking to appoint a Professor in Marketing, who will bring a strong record of research and publication in one or more of the following areas: Consumer behaviour, branding, services marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing and corporate social responsibility.

You will contribute to building a strong research community, supporting more junior researchers and undertaking doctoral supervision. You should have a strong existing research portfolio and pipeline as well as be able to demonstrate research in internationally recognised publications. You should be able to demonstrate a proven record of building ‘inter-disciplinary’ research projects and gaining external funding. In addition, you must have a positive track record of innovative teaching and be active in engaging with external stakeholders. We offer you a collegiate environment for the development of your research and teaching. We have a rigorous scheme for the allocation of research allowances that are comparable with the best in the sector, a lively research culture with frequent research seminars and workshops, a mentoring scheme, and Departmental and Faculty-wide resources for conference participation. We also offer competitive salaries, pension schemes and generous annual leave allowances.
