Germany, Technische Universität Dresden

TU Dresden now seeks to fill 20 Open Topic Postdoc Positions with researchers at advanced postdoc level whose doctoral thesis is dating back no more than 6 years.

Technische Universität Dresden is one of eleven German Universities of Excellence. An important aspect of our institutional strategy “The Synergetic University“ is to attract and further develop outstanding researchers.
Following the successful programme “Open Topic Tenure Track Professorships”, TU Dresden now seeks to fill

20 Open Topic Postdoc Positions
by 1st November 2017

with researchers at advanced postdoc level whose doctoral thesis is dating back no more than 6 years.

These positions are an attractive opportunity for personal development in an excellent environment. During the employment the selected candidates are expected to submit applications for support of their own subsequent research projects to renowned funding agencies. In addition, the employment period shall be used to explore further career opportunities at TU Dresden and the DRESDEN-concept partner institutions.

The decisive selection criterium is the applicant´s demonstrated excellence in innovative research areas fitting into the general profile of TU Dresden. Furthermore, a convincing concept for a future third-party funded research project, e.g. for an Emmy Noether research group, shall be submitted.

TU Dresden supports equal employment opportunities for women and men. To address the present imbalance, this program is particularly addressed at female academics. Applications from disabled persons are encouraged.

What we offer:

  • one to two-year employment (salary according to E 13 TV-L or E 14 TV-L, and in accordance with WissZeitVG) or an equivalent research fellowship
  • an appropriate budget for consumables and travel expenses as well as access to the required research infrastructures
  • professional guidance and individual assistance in the research grant application process as well as networking opportunities at the Dresden science hub
  • the opportunity to benefit from individual coaching activities and to participate in a Graduate Academy training programme specifically tailored to the needs of the target group
