Chief Marketing Officer
Monash University is an energetic and dynamic university committed to quality education, outstanding research and international engagement. A member of Australia's Group of Eight research-intensive universities and ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide, Monash is a university striving to make a difference in everything we do, seeking new answers and solutions to the challenges facing our world.
With a presence on four continents and the strongest international competitive research funding record of any Australian university, Monash is fast emerging as a truly global institution. Home to more than 70,000 students, 7,500 FTE staff and more than 310,000 alumni, we are Australia's largest university. Our strategic plan, Focus Monash, articulates the goals that will shape our future for the next five years: to be excellent, international, inclusive and enterprising.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President, the Chief Marketing Officer plays a critical role in supporting Focus Monash. The key activities of Marketing and Communications emphasise a strong, strategic marketing and communications plan, differentiated branding, a 'lifecycle' approach to marketing, and creating value throughout the student experience.
The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for building and executing scalable marketing strategies, creative and innovative business solutions, providing insights, strategies and programs to support increased student enrolments, and promoting research opportunities whilst continually strengthening the University's brand nationally and internationally. The Chief Marketing Officer will transform the University's web presence in close collaboration with eSolutions, embed the co-delivery service model across the University while streamlining the central function, and will lead and motivate the Marketing and Communications team of more than 50 staff to deliver high quality, timely services across the entire University.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities, challenges and opportunities facing the higher education sector, the ability to manage institution-wide services and resources, and the capability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The appointee will be an exceptional marketing and communications strategist with the energy and vision to provide transformational and innovative leadership, and with a proven capacity to champion and manage change. Highly collegial, engaging and resilient, the successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in marketing, business management or a relevant discipline.
