The Opportunity

Our Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Senior Lecturer with a distinguished scholarly record. Our faculty prides itself on achieving high standards of education delivery and cultivating excellence through the successful mentoring of students.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to develop and contribute to a vibrant education program, both in delivery and design.  In addition, you will be teaching courses that may involve the topics of mechanical properties of materials, physical metallurgy, structure of engineering materials, whilst also engaging in professional and institutional service and leadership. 

You will have exceptional opportunities to engage in significant collaborations, with the position being based at the Clayton campus, which houses a modern and state-of-the-art suite of facilities and infrastructure for the materials sciences. 

As the successful candidate, you will have a PhD in materials science and engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a proven background of teaching in the discipline area.  

This opportunity is for a Level C Senior Lecturer, however we are interested in hearing from academics wishing to work in Materials Science and Engineering at any level.  The appointment will be made at a level appropriate to the successful applicant's qualifications and experience in accordance with classification standards.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
