UQ Business School
The UQ Business School provides a high-quality range of programs from undergraduate to masters to PhD. The UQ Business School is looking for Teaching and Research Academics to be based at the St Lucia campus with knowledge / expertise in and a PhD in one of either, Hospitality or Event Management. Depending on the expertise of the successful applicant, appointment may be either at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level.
In this role you will provide academic development and teaching in the tourism programs and will contribute to the effective teaching in tourism, hospitality or event management and/or in the disciplinary core subjects; be involved in curriculum development and in the ongoing enhancement of teaching processes and methods. In addition to this, they will contribute to the research strengths of the School and Tourism Cluster, including the pursuit of competitive research grants and regular publication in high quality academic journals, the supervision of research higher degree students; and academic administration and service activities both internally and externally.
The successful applicant will possess a PhD and proven high quality research and methodological training in discipline areas related to tourism, hospitality or event management, have a demonstrated ability to contribute to high quality teaching of tourism related programs (preferably with experience and proven ability to teach under- and post-grad coursework in the hospitality and/or event management areas), have a very high level and active program of research and an established record of publications in leading national and international tourism-related (or other business area) journals relevant to level. The successful applicant will understand UQBS priorities around high quality research, exceptional student experience, and strong citizenship to School, Tourism Cluster and Community.
This is a full-time, continuing, teaching and research academic appointment with an expected commencement for Semester 1, 2018. Depending upon the level of appointment, the remuneration package will be in the range of:
- For Lecturer (Academic Level B) $92,142 - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807- $128,020 p.a.).
- For Senior Lecturer (Academic Level C) $112,874 - $130,150 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,276 p.a.).
- For Associate Professor (Academic Level D) $135,909 - $149,731 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $159,014 - $175,185 p.a.).
