TOP Education Group, through its academic division of the Sydney City School of Law is seeking to appoint a new Associate Dean of Law. TOP Education Institute is a fully accredited tertiary education provider founded in 2001. The newly established Law School is Australia’s first non-university Law School, the School provides a TEQSA and LPAB accredited LLB and in addition offers other Law degree programmes at postgraduate level. Given its successful initial intake the Sydney City School of Law sees considerable growth in this area.
The School is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual able to operate in a commercial environment where flexibility is highly sought after. The Associate Dean will have an excellent record of teaching and research and be experienced in mentoring others and creating a collegial work environment. With an appropriate PhD, the preferred candidate will already be at the Associate Professor or experienced Senior Lecturer level and have a demonstrated publications record. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate leadership of teaching and learning and lead through exemplary teaching practise. The ability to collaborate with the professions, business and/or industry, and an ability to engage with external parties overseas such as China are also considered distinct advantages. The appointee will also be actively involved in student recruitment.
An entrepreneurial mind-set and a proven track to search out growth is critical as is an ability to provide high quality services as defined by customer feedback. This position also requires excellent relationship skills in dealing with a broad set of stakeholders including staff, and clients. Sophisticated interpersonal skills, analytical skills, ability to work with ambiguity and uncertainty, empathy, intuition, the ability to listen and the capacity to interpret information quickly and accurately are essential. Proven experience with assessment tools and coaching are also required.
The Associate Dean will be seen as overseeing the management of the School of Law and take a lead around the development and introduction of new programs to cater for growth and development.
