Governance Support Officer and Clerk to the Board of Governors

Contract: 0.4 full time equivalent (average two days per week), permanent

Salary: pro rata of £43,697 per annum (i.e. £17,479)

Location: Bloomsbury, London

The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama was established in 2001 and is a Higher Education Institution comprising a partnership of eight independent, specialist schools delivering world-leading education and vocational training in the performing arts.  We train the performing artists production professionals of the future: actors, circus artists, dancers, stage managers, technical theatre practitioners, choreographers and directors.

The Conservatoire is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to support the coordination of its governance and committee operations and to provide support to the Chair and the members of the Board of Governors and its committees in ensuring that it meets statutory requirements and exemplifies best practice as the governing body of a publicly funded Higher Education Institution.

The post-holder will have significant experience of servicing and working with a governing body and also of working with committee members and the executive in a Higher Education Institution or similar organisation. The post-holder will possess the ability to work effectively as part of a small administrative team and will liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders as necessary.

The post-holder will be a person of integrity, with excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.  He/she will possess excellent organisational skills, including a demonstrable ability to work in an environment which requires initiative, self-motivation, ability to prioritise and attention to detail and have a flexible approach to working hours.
