Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 13th globally and 1st amongst the world’s best young universities.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Singapore), a partnership between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Imperial College London, will train a generation of doctors who will put patients at the centre of their exemplary medical care. Graduates of the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme that begins in 2013 will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, along with interdisciplinary subjects including business management, humanities and technology.

The School’s primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School, named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian, aims to be a future model for innovative medical education. Its first doctors will graduate in 2018 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), awarded jointly by NTU and Imperial College London, and become doctors who will enhance Singapore’s healthcare in the decades to come.

Senior Assistant Director/Deputy Director, Graduate Studies

The Senior Assistant Director/Deputy Director, Graduate Studies will provide administrative leadership for graduate programmes and executive courses at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Champion, in consultation with faculty, clinicians, researchers, and partner institutions, new programmes and executive courses from development to implementation
  • Actively promote LKCMedicine graduate programmes and executive courses
  • Liaise with admissions committee on shortlisting applications for admissions
  • Ensure effective and targeted outreach activities for graduate programmes
  • Manage Research Scholarship Block allotment from NTU to ensure optimal allocation of scholarship monies
  • Liaise with admission committee, management (Dean, Board of Trustees), University and MOE to ensure timely and accurate reports (budgeting, student progress) and smooth running of graduate programmes
  • Provide curriculum and academic support for graduate programmes
  • Oversee processing of applications for incoming research attachments 
  • Lead, coach and manage the graduate studies team

Skills and Requirements: 

  • A good degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in university administration preferably with some experience in graduate research administration/ management
  • Good level of numeracy and experience in compiling data and preparing management/ statistical reports
  • Excellent planning, organisation and management skills
  • Able to work to deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in a supervisory role, excellent leadership, analytical interpersonal and communications (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven capability to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Willing to work and travel to other campuses and hospitals
