Position overview

The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region.

The School of Culture, History and Language brings together scholars, undergraduate and graduate students to achieve the highest level of excellence in teaching and research at both a National and International level.

The School is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in palynology to be part of a large international effort exploring the history and dynamics of climate in the Indo-Pacific Warm Pool. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be centrally engaged in the ARC funded project "The pace and rhythm of climate: 600,000 years in a biological hotspot". The project is in part supported by the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (http://www.icdp-online.org/projects/world/asia/lake-towuti) with participants from around the world. While the successful candidate will be based in Australia they will engage with team members from a range of international institutions.
