The Opportunity

Monash Histology Platform (MHP) is offering an exciting position which calls for a mix of Histological technical proficiency, team management and business development.

We are seeking a Histology Senior Officer with supervisory experience and excellent communication skills to assist with the continued development and maintenance of nodal sites within Monash Histology Platform.

The MHP-AMREP node, located within the Alfred Hospital site, was the first external Monash Histology node to be successfully implemented in 2014. We now require an on-site superviser for a minimum of two days per week, the remaining three days per week will be spent at Monash University, Clayton campus (the central hub). From time to time work will also be required at other local MHP Histology nodes.

In addition to delivering technical histology services, you will enjoy an agile working environment and be able to deliver a range of services in support of the Histology Platform. This includes management of assigned personnel and facility resources, services marketing, administration, quality initiatives and business development activities.

To be considered you will require a tertiary qualification in a relevant area and extensive work experience in all routine histological fields, including experience in immunohistochemistry and tissue/cell analysis.

As you will be managing a small team, you will have demonstrated managerial experience including leading and motivating people, prioritising and scheduling work, problem solving and the ability to work cooperatively with a number of stakeholders. Business development and/or marketing experience would be highly regarded. 

This role is a full-time position however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
